The course is part of a modern and modular European Master and Certification Program set up in the EU project iNTeg-Risk by Steinbeis University (STI Advanced Risk Technologies) and other project partners.

The course aims to explain the EU regulations in the field of safety and health of workers at work. Main topics include general principles concerning the prevention of occupational risks, the protection of safety and health, the elimination of risk and accident factors, general guidelines for the implementation of these principles as well as the  the informing, consultation and balanced participation in accordance with national laws and/or practices. The course also discusses the training of workers and their representatives.

At the end of the course the participants are expected to know:

  • Which EU regulations are relevant for occupational safety and health
  • Objectives, scope and requirements of overall directive 
  • Requirements for special personnel assigned to deal with occupational safety and health.
  • How to prevent occupational risks
  • How to implement guidelines and principles in companies

Short description

Regulations in the field of safety and health of workers at work. It will explain general principles concerning the prevention of occupational risks, the protection of safety and health, the elimination of risk and accident factors, the informing, consultation, balanced participation in accordance with national laws and/or practices and training of workers and their representatives, as well as general guidelines for the implementation of the said principles. The EU member states are obliged to integrate these matters into their national regulations. Where appropriate this is exemplified with regulations from Germany.

Target profile of attendees Engineers (university level), managers, inspectors, legislators and other professionals dealing with risk and safety in industry.
